running like it should

its been a very very long road. there still may be something wrong buts its running like it should.
here are the results:
the sysnalse DV has caused me LOTS of issues. even though they say you can run it vented to atmosphere, you cant. the valve opens at idle making it run lean.

my MSD was cooking my rotors. i think this was the random run good run bad issue. i finally made one that bypassed the resistor and it has run smoother. finally bought one from Orielly.

swapped my plugs.
i had the plugs out so i decided to pop in a used set of NGK copper plugs. (not very many miles on them). that made a big difference. made the upper RPM's smooth out.

still running lean...but:
so i set the WCP to spec and just cranked down on the mixture screw until i was getting around 15:1 at cruise. idle is now very rich. 11:1.
at 2500 i am at 14.5 and at 3k i am at 15.4.
i had the vacuum retard disconnected so i connected it back up and brought the idle back up to 950. now the idle mixture is 12:1. (my brother claims his idles best at around 12.5:1 so i am a tad richer than him).
idle still has just a very slight miss every now and then but that could be the plugs.

one other thing i figured out.
at 2k RPM it is very rich, like in the 13's. somewhere between 2k and 2400 is when the "lean cruise" mixture is comning in. when i was making big changes in the CP this was throughing me for a loop because at a lower CP this should raise in RPM's. so maybe at 2500 i was still on the "idle" mixture which would be very rich then it would transistion closer to 3k.

i may try rasing the CP up some to see if it lowers this transistion point. another thing to look at is will it start to go richer at a different point. (not due to the WUR). when i had my 77s, due to the shape of the AFM i could see it start to go rich at 4k RPM. i cant really see any shape to the 930 AFM so i wonder if it has this WOT thransition shape to the AFM.

one other thing that i found out. setting the CP richer and adjusting the mixture leaner is the same as setting the CP leaner and adjusting the mixture richer. at least for my car. i could not see any different end results except the idle tp cruise transtion points.

it still makes me think i have an air leak but i have been thru the intake adn cant find one.
