My 930 Is taking a trip....

To TurboKraft! Reliable Auto Carriers stopped by my house today to pick it up and drop it off to Chris tomorrow.

The plan is for a tear-down and rebuild of my motor. Chris plans to build a 3.5L using a 996GT3 crank as the basis for the rotating assembly with custom rods and pistons. Cylinders will be LN Nickie's. Heads will be ported and twin-plugged. Chris will use a custom profile cam. Many more details but I hope he'll eventually send pictures of the build. He will also be swapping in a built G50/01 and EFI. He's also planning for his big full bay intercooler to replace my current full bay.

I've waited a while for this and can't wait to see the result!

Chris.

WOW, sweet Chris!

And this is the best time of year for it - the big burnass heat is on the way, and with your car in "full commando mode" (aka: no a/c, even in TexASS), it might as well be elsewhere getting worked over!!!

Pretty much... I spent the last 6 months not being able to really DRIVE it since the clutch would slip beyond 1/2 throttle blasts. So really, it's been a long wait. I was just trying to get my finances in order since this is going to be a costly (but worthwhile) venture with TK. I finally resolved myself to just doing the full build all at once. It just makes sense to me. I want to spend the next few years enjoying the car. I asked for "scary fast" - hopefully we have the recipe for that!

Chris.

This was a picture of my car from a week ago when it snowed here:

It's an 86 930. It has 53,283 miles on it. Far from stock and about to be really far from stock. Just the way I like it!

Chris, your call already looks quite impressive. I like the wheels and color. Maybe it's the snow, but that front tire looks pretty "tightly fitted" under the fender. No rubbing on hard turns?

Also like the clear light lenses on the front parking/blinkers! Nice touches!!

Thanks!

No rubbing - there was a fair amount of snow packed into the tires. I'm running about -1.5 degrees camber on the front end and it doesn't give any issues.

Chris.

I will be watching what has started to be a great build. Fun times are ahead. Good thing you have wide open roads in your area.

Chris...I know your car will be in good hands at TK. Sounds like it will become a beast! I wish Chris @ TK would post his progress here like he did with Linc's car but won't count on it...oh well.
