I would say find a local broker, someone that specializes in Porsche's or a local paper. I really feel your local paper or car sale magazine is your best bet. Ebay can be a lot of hassle.

Bleedski, I bet you would get some good suggestions if you posted this question in the Marketplace Forum . . . some very knowledgeable "buying & selling" guys post there and will be glad to help.

I think largely because ebay is not localized. You get people bidding on your car 1000 miles away. Cars.com is a great suggestion.

Hrrm...

^I sold my car from CT to TORONTO in a week on Ebay^

???

I'd:

- not pay a broker
- utilize multiple outlets: cars.com, autotrader, ebay, Pelican & Rennlist classifieds

"Local paper"... crykie... I cannot think of a worse suggestion.

What is this, 1986? Maybe direct all calls to a pay phone, and stress that your 8 tracks are NOT included with sale??

stay away from the brokers.
when i was buying they were a pain the A$$. they really jacked th eprice of the car up.
i spent over a year looking for a car and i really new the values based on what the cars where selling for, not the asking price. i was so frustrated that everyone was giving their cars to brokers that i REFUSED to buy a broker car.

it does not take a genious to sell a car. the big mistake people make is they list a $80k car and put 2 pictures of it on the add.

take LOTS of pictures and be honest about the car. we know there are things wrong with them. put the car on jack stands and start with the underside of the car. take clear pics of each corner and of the floor pan. clean the engine and take underside pics of the engine/tranny.

here is my ad for my 77.

Sorry for the delay. Had too much to do last week. The car is an 82 930 with 82,000 mis. I am the third owner and have had it for 13 years. The 2nd owner lives 1/2 mile from me. The car was originally a regular 930. The original owner went to Germany and had the slantnose mod done in Germany prior to having it shipped to Arizona, where it entered the U.S. I live in the Mojave desert in Victorville and the car has been in the desert since it came into this country. Other than the slantnose mod and an aftermarket porsche steering wheel (I have the original steering wheel) and the polished fuchs, the car is stock and runs great. The car has been garaged since new. The only damage I know of is when I lost control of my BMW K1200LT motorcycle, trying to get it on the center stand and it landed on the rear passenger fender, putting a dent on it. It has been repaired, but can is visible to an experienced eye. Also I ran over a rock on Hwy 2 and it hit the front trans mount. That has been replaced. The front valance has some cracks and chips. Everything works on the car. A/c compressor was replace last year. many other things have been done, as with any car this old it is a work in progress. The car gets driven regularly. The car is in what I would consider to be good condition. It is a head turning vehicle. My asking price is $58K.
