Can you tell if a 930 gear box is lsd from the serial number on the gearbox?

Yes. Between the 5 digit type number and the serial number it will be stamped with a 12.

I'm not sure that is for every year, because my trans # is on my coa along with the LSD option code listed and I definitely have LSD, but I have 2J, not 12. What does the 2J mean?
PS - This pic was before I pulled my motor. I had forgotten how dirty it was! LOL. ![]()

I don't have a good answer for you. There's something odd about that serial number too. They usually start with 77 and then are followed by a letter or number that designates the model year. scratches head...
