Video was very first start after FrenkenCIS install.

Differences so far from original CIS are :

Original CIS
Hot or cold start it would surge from start.
It would also swing over for 4-5 seconds before firing hot or cold.

FrankenCIS
Hot or cold no surging, but that maybe because it has air temp sensor and today was about 21 degree C so it didn't need to enrich much on a cold start, have to wait until temps drop here.
On a hot start it fires instantly, very short swinging over and then just idles rock steady.

I'll connect the computer up tomorrow and see what reading I get plus go for a drive and try on boost.

Running just 0.5Bar at present.

Tried the autotune function today which didnt seem to do much but I think thats because its running OK with the settings Mike set it up for in the first place.
AFR on boost definatly needs some tweeking, I was getting about 14's, athough I didnt see it get any leaner over 5.5K so it looks like it may cure the lean over 5.5K issue I was having, have to see once I manage to richen it up.

I've really got to learn now how to use TunerStudio and change the target AFR's now.

Screen shot as it was warming up :

I’ll be watching with interest. I’ve got 90% of the parts here to go EFI but there is some sick part of me that wants to keep playing with CIS.

After changing a few settings with the help from Mike the AutoTune function is up and running :

Auto Tune for Off Boost Table :

Fuelload kPa is generally, 100 = atmosphere / 15 is lift off over run, and so on inbetween those two. (Idle is about 40 to 45 Kpa)
The cells then have a number, 100 is factory CIS Fuelload Kpa amount for that rpm. So 110 would be more fuel and 90 would be less.
You have a similar table for AFR's, so you can set you AFR's and the Auto Tune then ajusts the fuel tables to try and achieve the target AFR's. Or you can edit the fuel table
manually to increase or decrease fuel load.

Below is Fuelload Kpa 101 and above so basically in boost.
As I'm running only low boost (0.5Bar) I top out at about Fuelload Kpa 140.

You can see the Cells that Auto Tune has modified by there change in colours and the box's on the right hand side showing which Cells have changed ( Red, Blue box's etc).
Different colours referring the the amount the figure has changed by. (Red Less, Blue more)

No idea what Cell Weighting is at the moment! haha

Auto Tune for On Boost Table :

Now the Auto Tune is functioning and doing its thing I've found a marked difference in terms of turbo spool & power.
Original setup with Bosch WUR, Zork, Headers and 3LDZ the boost would come on around 3200ish. I changed to a K27-7200 and to be honest wasn't very impressed, seemed to have no real additional power and spool up was sooner but not much in it. I did start to wonder why everyone bothered to change to K27-7200's!
Now after and hours drive of auto tuning I can feel boost start to build from as little as 2000+ rpm and by 2500+ its a decent surge with then power all the way.

Still some bits to do and change like the hot start pressures and do an auto tune cold start etc but overall its soooo much better than before with the Bosch WUR.

gavinc69,
Congrats! Impressive progress you're making. What inputs are you using? O2, MAP and TPS?

My DKubus kit came with Bosch O2 sensor and MAP.
But there where losts of additional options you can have on top of those so if you need more drop Mike an email and ask if its available on the kit.

I've got a knock sensor option on and also timing control but I'll get those wired up later.

CIS System

This is a question for gavinc69. What CIS system are you using on you Turbo 3.0. I have a supercharged 3.0 sitting on a test stand stuck at a crossroad. Trying to use CIS or switching to EFI.

Looks like stock NA CIS runners from the pics. Injectors look like standard NA friction fit type.

If so, are you doing anything special to secure the injectors, so there's no chance of blow out on boost?

Yeap, its standard CIS (1980 EURO 3.0 CIS)

Here's the turbo conversion from start to current setup :

Turbo Conversion on 3.0 SC Winter Project

As you'll see I basically modified the CIS to use a turbo setup trying to utilise as many factory parts as possible and using other peoples similar builds for info.
It all ran quite well using a 930 WUR to control fuelling on boost but I wanted something I could add to and tune easily at home which is why I went digital WUR.
You could use an adjustable WUR but I didn't fancy using bolts, nuts and spanners to make fine adjustments.

As I now want to run a bit more boost than 0.5 bar I will be looking at a method to hold the injectors in place, just in case!

The FranenCIS has defiantly given me fine control over the fuelling and I'm just about to install a boost control solenoid and later knock sensor plus timing control. It's a great system.
