930 Track Sparkplug Recommendation

Looking for the best plug for 930 track use.

1980 930
Stock turbo .8 bar
Stock CDI
SSI Headers, no muffler

I'm assuming a colder plug like the NKG BR8EIX is a good choice.

Recommendations?

And, what should the gap be set at for stock CDI.

Thanks

Jim

I've run stock plugs for years, no issues or complaints. $16 each from our host.

I use a Denso IW-24 which is their heat range 8 iridium plug. They also make a racing version of that plug but I've found the standard iridium version is pretty awesome.

Don't torture your poor little stock CDI with a resistor plug. It will just get even hotter than normal, and deliver less energy at the gap.

Why change from a 0.2mm platinum electrode to a .4mm copper electrode? Seems like the wrong direction to me.

+1

or use the IK-24 with a smaller 5/8" hex. Easier to change.

Thanks guys.

I'm bringing a 1980 930 back to life and want to update the plugs. My former mechanic used some Champion from a long time ago. The car has been idle for over 10 years so is getting the fuel system and mechanical go over before restarting.

Lot's of opinions to consider here.
