injector upgrade for e85

Tuning for E85 and ran out of duty cycle with the id 725 injectors. In with the 1000s and looks like that's cured. Now we'll see if the fuel delivery can keep up.

How did you like your ID 725s?

What power level were you at when they tapped out?

lite75 09-13-2015 05:04 PM

I haven't had it on the dyno yet. For now I'm logging everything possible to find any problems before it gets strapped down. Fuel pressure is my next guess.

The 725s will handle just about all you can throw at it running gas, awesome injectors.
I have them posted in the for sale section.

Me pants are a 'lil tighter.....:)

I bet ID's are superb, but you can pick up Siemens Deka 875cc/80lb high-Z's for $300 on ebay new.

Love mine, nice idle.

lite75 09-13-2015 05:54 PM

They modify injectors and you pay them for the flow test in a nutshell.

xbmwguy 09-14-2015 03:25 AM

You will need to raise static fuel pressure from( I assume) 43.5 to 50 -55# to see numbers north of 550 on e-85

I already have ID 725s and was just curious about how people liked them as I haven't shot any fuel through them yet.

I suppose while I have my car apart I should add the supporting hardware for E85 "while I am in there".

lite75 09-14-2015 08:48 AM

I would go bigger on the injectors if your thinking of running E85, the 725s are not going to flow enough even with a higher fuel pressure.

totle 09-14-2015 08:54 AM

Nice :-)
What HP goal are you aiming for?

lite75 09-14-2015 09:09 AM

For now I'm shooting for 500 at the wheels, That's probably a push for the gt35...

Always read ID's idled great. That's 95% the issue with big injectors. IMO, if you have good idle, everything else is trivial.

I think Chris Carroll got 575whp out of GT35? You should be fine AFAIK.

I've seen even higher with E85 and meth......of course, that's a whole 'nuther subject....:)

xbmwguy 09-14-2015 03:39 PM

I was getting a little over 500 with a gt35 and a pancake manifold. Most of your good big linjectors have excellent idle qualities. My 1100s idle better than my old 800s.if you are going to be running e-85 as a main fuel 1000 is min.

TurboKraft 09-14-2015 04:56 PM

Injector Dynamics = best of the best. Period. You get all the tech data you need to program the ECU and get factory-smooth performance from the injectors. It's why we get ID2000s to behave perfectly at 875rpm idle as well as 7,500rpm.

xbmwguy is right, you'll need to up your fuel pressure.
Tom's UBER930 did 722whp on e85 with ID1000s at at higher fuel pressure.

Correct, we hit 575whp and ran out of turbo compressor flow on a built 3.3L EFI engine. She wanted more.

VE table dialed in, fuel pressure holding steady. EBC needs to be sorted out and I'll start adding the pressure...

lite75 09-24-2015 10:45 AM

Ebc sorted, looks like the wastegate pipe doesn't flow enough to keep the boost under control. Header mods in the works...

lite75 10-26-2015 03:30 PM

I pulled down a set of Protomotive headers I had hanging in the shop and decided to rework them for a T4 twin scroll turbo. New collector going together, twin 38mm tials on the way..

Beautiful work. Are you doing the exhaust work or is farmed out ? Either way, very nice.

lite75 10-26-2015 10:35 PM

Thanks, I'm doing the fit up but the tig work is being done by others. I'm a part owner in a fabrication shop, with a waterjet at my disposal. makes this end of the project fun for me.
