Hot start trouble. Starts only after pressing FH air plate

When I press the plate I can hear sqeaking. AFR on idle is 13.5 and warm control pressure is 50psi or 3.5 bar. No help pressing the gas pedal when it does not start.

I might still have air leaks but this does not sound like air leak. Timing was at 15btdc and I just changed it to 5 up to 800rpms and 10btdc up to 1200rpms.

Any other ideas?

I dont have the plunger wire connected and the cold start valve is disconnected also ( shoul not matter on warm start up). No aar or is it aav, only Wur is connected of the original gadgets. I also have my fuel pumps switched next to a start push button and fuel pumps are definately running!

The car is not ready for streets yet but I have done 10 meter runs on driveway and it stalls easily on get go (might be air leaks related)

Cant recall but I had the rubber bend after the metering plate hooked up badly at one point. So I beleive it was air leak after all.

Fuel accumulator, thingy by the fuel filter. Try replacing it, I think there is a way to test it but not sure.

The fuel accumulator holds residual pressure for hot start - 20 psi. Only way to test is with CIS gauges as normal, then switch everything off - should hold 20 psi on gauge for half hr or so. The squeeking noise on pushing airplate is your injectors pushing fuel into cylinders. Don't do this for long or you will flood them. All suggests not getting fuel quick enough for hot start (or leaness/airleak) - so the accumulator/Rest pressure is a good place to start.
Regards
Alan

Fuel pump ?Check-Valve

Could also be the front fuel pump Check-Valve if same as early turbo. There is a check valve in the fitting for the fuel line that screws into the front fuel pump. I think they are about $20-$40 on e-bay.

Are we talking more than just a hot start problem? Sounds like she won't continue to run past 30 meters down the driveway.

Then you said this:

Cant recall but I had the rubber bend after the metering plate hooked up badly at one point. So I beleive it was air leak after all.

So what really is the problem? It won't start, or it won't keep running? Tell us again what's really going on.

If the rest pressure is not holding - then a place to look is the check valve as posted above - that is its function.

I was asking, as I was having hot start problems and was looking for a lead on where to start. The good news is that we found it! Looks like there was an obstruction in the control fuel line between the WUR & fuel distributor.

With noting found or left to loose we took the fuel line off, cleaned it with throttle body cleaner, blew it out and now she starts every time. Nothing solid but for sure some corrosion.

It does sound a bit odd, but good luck if it is working. It would have to suggest your WUR wasn't working properly either - which would have given you a few more headaches. Maybe you gave it just enough of a fright.

Freshly rebuilt Leask WUR means it was the last thing I was considering. Car starts hot and cold every time now.
