My Proper Introduction 1982 Porsche 930 Turbo

		Gentlemen,
I bought a 930 last year and am in the middle of getting it road worthy. Don't be fooled by the pictures it needs a new paint job and has grinds in the transmission and a broken head stud. I've been gathering parts getting ready to drop the engine, send the transmission out, and do a basic rebuild without splitting the case when I redo my head studs. The car runs but driving has been limited due to the 2nd and 3rd gear grind. Car has only 42000 miles but sat outside for awhile. This car is interesting to me in that it is a Euro Model car that was sent to Belgium by D'Ieteren and repainted and redone as a slant nose. So I like to technically call it a dealer option slant nose :) The car was original minerva blue but at one point was repainted. The car also came with a factory white interior but I don't quite know which of it is suppose to be white and what was done after the fact. Car came with the RUF wheels powder coated black. The repaint and slantnose was done at D'Ieteren from what I could gather. They did a great job doing an amazing color change as the only way I could figure out its factory color was by looking under the VIN plate. The affixed D'Ieteren VIN plate has the new color underneath which tells me about the time it was done. My 930 is also from d'Ieteren in Brussels, imported into the UK in 1998 and bought by me in 1999. I believe this company used to build their own cars in the twenties but now are a main distributor and importer of cars including Porsche.
Good luck with your purchase, looks good in the pics. |

Beautiful car Philip. You're on a slippery slope!
I know, I'm still sliding myself. Good luck with your build. This is a great resource! |

Thanks guys. I'm just hoping it doesn't end up costing me a ton of money but I already know it will. Good thing is I have a talented well connected group of friends who can help me!
