Selling a used 930 3.3 Motor
Some expenses have come up and i'm considering selling trying to sell the motor in my hotrod, I think...
It's a 1987 3.3, 930/68 *68KO1057* has 964 cams, 8.5-1 CR, twin plug set up. TEC1 EMS. All race ware fasteners. Polished case webs, 3 angle valve job, intake polished. I've seen these motor sell for crazy money and i'm not sure if its worth it for me to do this. The motor was rebuilt about 20,000 kms ago according to the previous owner but I have no documented proof of that. I drove it hard at 5 or 6 track events this season with not an issue, it ran fantastic and many instructors commented how fast it was! All I can provide is a leakdown and compression test which i'll be doing very soon at a very well respected Porsche mechanic so that will be documented. I saw a very similar motor to mine sell for $20k USD earlier this year. I believe it included the fuel system and intercooler. Another thing is, will I really get much more $$ for the complete motor with CIS, headers, turbo & intercooler? I'd prefer to keep all the accessories so that I can put them back onto a 930 motor in the future. So what are people typically looking for, just the motor alone to put their own accessories onto? I would assume most people want to buy a motor to replace one that has failed in their car so they shouldn't really need headers, CIS, turbo etc, Am I right? Any input or advice would be appreciated.

Keep anything you may need in the future if you have a place to store them those items are not going to get cheaper if you have to buy them again
