Anyone using MSD 6530 6AL-2 programmable?`

Looking for feedback from anyone who has used the MSD programmable ignition on their turbos.

In particular, would be interested about setups for turbo'd 3.2 Carreras, although I think any info would be good.

(Saw the WTB in Pelican ads and have been thinking about this also.)_

Are there complications in using this box?
Any regrets?
Is it an unnecessary purchase?
Any better suggestions?

Thanks.

I've got one sitting on the shelf.

I believe Cole930 has installed it on his 930 others as well, but I don't remember exactly who.

If you do some digging you'll find some great info. I have one but, I haven't fully installed it yet. I need to lock my dizzy and hook up a map sensor, then set the timing tables on the lap top. I bought it used from Norm who I believe had it hooked up with the dizzy locked down. Keep us posted.

Very happy so far... Easy to tune. Excellent start up/idle. Great performance for the price.

That is a very beautiful install!

The benefits of 3D ignition control is unreal. Great MPG's, good low end torque, and ability to tune ignition perfect if on a dyno.

Sport,
Thanks for the input and the pics. Wow, your engine bay is CLEAN!
I am not smart enough to figure out what kind of engine you have there?

Thanks. It's a euro 3.3l from 1983, rebuilt from the ground up with some upgrades :-)

Damn, I hope you don't drive that beauty! Would hate to see a speck of dirt on it!!
Beautiful beautiful beautiful.

I run one and it's been great but I'm only using it as basic ignition which is unfortunate

I hope to eventually lock down my dizzy and tailor the ignition values - really want to optimize that and utilize the unit's potential
