I have an app on my phone to upload to YT.

It was free.

Oh man. What a loss. We never met- only conversed via pm a couple of times. I sent Dave an old dual inlet snorkel intake set up off a CIS racecar to see if he could use it on the sled. Imagine my surprise a couple of weeks later when a large coffee table book on the history of the Porsche Turbo arrived at my door. He was a true gentleman...

Thank you Vicki, I'm looking forward to it and I'm sure everyone else is too.
This is the only picture I had of Dave with his wife.
I think he posted it a few years ago. The picture file data says it was taken on 1-3-2009.

JFairman this is a wonderful pic of Mr. & Mrs. Cole930! We have this also. There are no words to describe just how wonderful he was. My heart screams with pain, as time passes we will learn to live with our loss but will never be forgotten.

I just came across this sad news. I had the pleasure of meeting Dave only last September. There was an event in Auburn, IN where I was showing one of my Porsches. I recognized a big winged white Turbo across the way and made a beeline to it. I had seen it on the forum in the past and figured it had to be him. I introduced myself and he could not have been any nicer. Later in the month I was at RennSport R5 and ran into some guys from Turbo Kraft. We talked long about what a great guy Cole was. When I got back from RR5 I sent him a message via private message. It took about a week for him to get back with me. When I did hear back it seemed like all he could do was apologize for the delay. He had been at the Mayo clinic and a bit preoccupied. He gave me directions to his house (about 15 minutes from my house) and I planned on going up. I sure wish I would have made time to get up there. R.I.P. Cole.

hot damn - that thing sounds incredulously insidious! Well done, good sir!

he certainly created quite the machine there

rest in peace, ya old coot!

MikeD(!) shared Cole's online guestbook with me - I think it's appropriate to share it with our brethren here in case anyone wants to add an entry: David Cole Condolences | KPCNews

Ahh...it's nice to show the Old Sled running.

Here's an official link to the funeral home's obituary (I came across this after contacting Paul):
David Cole Obituary - Auburn

Vicki,
I forgot to say thanks for letting us know of David's passing. Please give Sheila a hug for us. Also, do you know whether Cole's dog, Gracie, is still around? If yes then give her a pat and treat, too.

Wow this is a body blow!!! We lost not only a great human being but a great American!! Some things about Cole:
He loved his wife and family,, Also loved dogs.. Sophie and I stopped in on a cross country trip and she had the run of the place..
Speaking of places.. he built his house from scratch and it was an architectural work of art..
He forgot more about Porsches than most of us will ever know.. I can't tell you how many times I called him on a Sat afternoon and that old sonofa***** always had the time to help me with some knowledge of what I was looking for..
He was also a war hero.. he was jumping out of an airplane into the jungles of Cambodia when in his words "we weren't even in Cambodia"
I'm gonna miss you my friend .. godspeed you old bastard...

His dog Gracie is still alive fat is ever! He also adopted a cat that came to his home which he named squirrel . I could of posted his obit for you guys, but didn't think of that, my apologies. I want to throw this out there to anyone, we are going to be having a "Party", I call it Dave's Ride. It will be sometime in March at the NATMUS Car Musuem in Auburn. This was Dave's request for a party. We thought the car museum was the perfect place. I'm calling all Porsches! I know some of you are many many miles away so in spirit is just fine. I will let everyone know as to when the final date is secured. I am also having a videographer put his whole build together in a video, he would just love that.

Hearing this really hit home.
We've lost a warm, kind, caring, and honest friend.
I cherish the hours he and I spent on the phone talking about one thing or another, and can still hear his scratchy sincere voice sharing his wisdom and wit. It's bringing a smile to my face now as I think about it.
You're in a better place than we are, Cole, and my prayers go out to your family. God bless you.

I never had an opportunity to communicate directly but knew he was a force on this board. RIP.
