No second and fourth gear
After a lot of trouble I managed to get the car right engine wise... after 4 months in storage second and fourth gear are as good as impossible to take... it pops out when I release the clutch. The coupler and shaft are checked but no luck there... shaft is at is end moving out-wards in the transmission... strange thing is that everything was fine when she went into her winter sleep...

When I move it very quick into sec of fourth gear then it works to take those gears... otherwise it's popping out when I release the clutch... broken or lose fork would mean I lose 1st and 2nd or 3th and 4th gear if I'm thinking right? Shop who rebuild the trans are closed until 11th of April...

Hopefully just an adjustment issue?

Trans. mounts? My friend had this issue in his car, when he shifted the trans. and engine would rock back and he couldn't get 2nd or 4th either.

Good luck, I bet it will be a simple fix, these things are built well and usually just need adjustment.

I guess it's inside the transmission... I even over adjusted to make sure that it's not an adjustment issue. There is a alu plate on the bottom of the tranny hold by a few screws... What is behind that plate?
Thanks for the support guy's! The transmission internally is not my thing... ![]() |

The little trap door is actually a fork that actuated or leverages the rod and maybe it's bent? If so that would be an easy fix.

![]() ![]() ![]() This is how it came out! Could it be so simple?! Let's hope so! It's too dark for installing it today, but I'll try installing it again tomorrow. You can not imagine how happy I would be if this was the culprit ![]() Thank you all, guys! |

That would be one of the luckiest g/box fixes ever, if it works. Did it come out like that - two loose bolts? looks like the stud has unwound on one, or is that you pulling it apart?

I had this happen. My shifter bushing back in the linkage between the seats had vaporized. I limped it home using 2nd and 4th. I could also only 1st or 3rd if i fiddled, but not all 4 at the same time. reverse was out of the question. Glad yours was an easy(ish) fix

I hope they did a better job on the other bolts in your G/box :-) Alan

Alan,
They have a history of coming loose. I would not be so quick to call the builder shoddy.
