BOVs/MAP/LEASK RPM Swich Signal Source
Hey, I saw some of you are running a dual diverter setup, I will be doing the same.
I plan on running a standard 710N style Forge valve vented to atmosphere on the intake elbow (fabspeed bypass hose). I then have a different Forge valve plumbed into a shortened mid-manifold (slidevalve section removed). This is also vented to atmosphere. I am new to running two valves so please forgive my ignorance here. That being said, where are you pulling signal from for both of your valves? Do you run a single line and T it or grab two separate ports on the throttle body? I no longer have a decel valve btw. I feel like one set of ports off the throttle body pull from above the butterfly and one set after. Thank you for any help you can provide. |
Shannon, this does not answer your question(s), butt I don't think a BOV vented to atmosphere works very well with CIS/K-Jetronic - doesn't that cause an extremely "false rich" condition by making the air metering arm move much father downward than is actually required at sudden closed throttle(a huge air leak, in other words)? Or maybe I'm mistaken about that?

Well upon closing you will get a burst of richness - hence the flames on lift. There really isnt any harm though (to my knowledge). The issues most people relate to venting to atmosphere is cars using a MAP/MAF for mixture control in the ECU. Those car's electronics are expecting to see that air volume re-circulated.
Venting to atmosphere in CIS does not fundamentally change where your air metering arm is to my knowledge. I vented to atmosphere on a CIS-E system (arguably more advanced than the Porsche plain old CIS) and there was no issue. |
Bumping this thread - I want to finish all the vacuum wireing this weekend.
So...anyone? Even if you aren't running a dual setup, where are you pulling signal from? Im considering plugging the port in the intake (965 style) tube and just running the unit after the intercooler and before the TB. Because people love pics.... https://c1.staticflickr.com/2/1713/2...df42f821_b.jpgIMG_1351.jpg by Shannon, on Flickr |
I can't help with your question but your motor sure looks sweet. Nice to see that Fabspeed hose blacked out. What product did you use ?

Once again...I am surprised by the lack of actual information in this forum.

On amazon its 'x-treme tape'. |
So you're asking where to hook the vacuum signal hose for the aftermarket BOV(s), correct?
If so, any place after the throttle plate (otherwise, no vacuum to operate the BOV). If it were mine, I would use the nipple (such a great word right thar!) on the throttle body that used to supply the vac signal for the vacuum limiter (decel valve), and then a "t" to supply a vacuum signal to both BOVs.
