Pressure in the fuel tank
It could be nothing but I noticed a lot more air coming out of the fuel tank when I remove the gas cap. Previously, there was some air pressure but it appears a lot more air is flowing out. There's so much that it blows away the gas cap out of my hands when unlocked and it takes about 3-4 seconds for all the air to come out. Normal? What could cause this? I ran a search but not much on the topic.
Thanks. |

Is this after sitting all winter with winter fuel, then taking for a spin in warm weather? If that is the case, the more volatile winter fuel might have vaporized in the take more than usual. Otherwise, the vent line must be plugged.
The fuel system circulates the fuel through the engine, so after a good drive, it can be pretty hot. |

The vent is clogged. It runs to a tank behind the drivers side headlight. Which in turn vents to a charcoal filter in the rear passenger side. Something in that line is plugged possibly the filter.
