The lower intake (the part that bolts to in the injector blocks) is aluminum. The upper intake (the part that has the bypass valve) is magnesium.

Not sure where you got your info on the 930 intake but its not correct.
All 3.0, 3.3 and the 3.6 turbo manifolds are magnesium. The upper section of the air flow meter that mounts the fuel distr. is aluminum but the lower section, the bypass valve housing and intake are all magnesium. If you pick up a bare manifold its obvious that its not aluminum as they are very light.

To do a quick test to determine Mag. from Alum. take a razor blade or sand paper and clean off a small spot down to bare shiny metal and put a drop of vinegar on it and if its Mag. it will start to fizzle . If its alum. nothing will happen.
Make sure you flush the vinegar off good with water.

So the answer to the OP's question is the manifold is magnesium.

Oops. My bad. I forgot all about that. Here is mine going through EFI conversion. It looks aluminum, but it is not.
