Audi A4q manual trans tq rating.

Sorry for the lack of 930 content.
I have a cool a4q Avant and its gutless. I'd like to add an ls engine or something with 400hp. Maybe more.
Can the a4 manual 5 speed take some tq?

Yes some but 5 speed is notorious of being weak. Six speeds are brutal up to 1000nm.

Get a different car. Less money; less painful. If you want a LS - go buy a G8 GXP.

I understand, I have gone this path before as well and yes you are 100% right in your explaination, but some of us are generally stupid so.....
It looks like the ls might be too long anyway but maybe the Audi 4.2.
Now it's beginning to get stupid.
I guess I should look for an s4 Avant unicorn.

If your looking for a bad wagon what about a N54 powered BMW E61? It's amazing what type of power for $3500-$5000 in mods these things crank out. I love my 6MT and it's gotten me through the rough patch of not having my 930 (which is ending soon!).

My wagon? It's a 2009 6 speed manual. Not sure if your question was directed to me though.

Short answer is I don't want to stoop so low in order to get a bad ass wagon.
I'm kidding bmw is cool but not for me.
I want the all wheel drive aspect of the a4 Avant. And the small size. Plus I like how they look.
I do like the v8 sound though.
I have the 930. I also have a truck but don't like driving it. I'd like to get a 70's c10 truck for hauling, and use the a4 as my travel family cruiser. Summer, winter, whatever.

Haha. I was looking hard for the Avant during my search as well. Truth is both are unicorns. The larger size of the E61 is a plus with my kids. Just pick up an AMG E63 and drop the microphone.

My vote would be to buy a 2000-2001 s4 avant. The 2.7tt motors can make a pretty good amount of power with out breaking the bank. Just my .02 as a fellow Audi driver/enthusiast

Sorry, it was meant for Quattrorunner but I now see he said 5 spd in his first post.

The 5spd is in 987.1 Boxsters and Caymans. Kind of a weak gearbox. The 6spd, which is in 987 S variants and 987.2 cars is super strong. They can take a beating.

Yeah that's right you had that for a little while haven't you? I saw you doing some work on it a while ago that seemed pretty in-depth and at the time to me it looked like abig ole hassle. But I was fresh off of my Audi ownership and happy to be there, I had had an allroad and it was a nightmare financially. Si firstly tell me how you like it and if it's been a good car for you or not? Any issues with water pump and access to that area? Did you have to remove the engine?

I have! Its been a great car. I had to fix a few oil leaks on it. Valve covers and valley pan gasket and an oring on the oil cooler. I also had to redo the headliner since it was sagging but all Audi/VW had that issue. But that was it. After all the years of ownership I would say that's pretty good. It is tight to work on. The access isn't bad as you have to put it in service mode to do anything. That includes changing the drive belt. There isn't a timing belt, just a chain so there is no maintenance there. Just regular oil changes and thats been about it. Well that and my wife letting the low profile tires get low on air and having to replace them I think the key is finding one that has been well maintained.
