Marco. Nakai. The designer is at his core a Race car driver. 20 years ago he build one like this for himself to go racing in Japan. He was testing downforce and grip. Wider wheel base and canards and wings.... Not for look. For a purpose. He tested and tested... And refined them... He started winning races. Only then was he asked to build one for a customer. He now has 2 track records in Japan. Motegi and Tsukaba. 4 times a year. He personally rents the tracks out and puts on his own races..... That he calls. "Idlers". 3 are sprint races and 1 is. 12 hour race. Last week was the 12 hour..... He had 120 cars there. Idlers stencil is an homage to his races.

T, good to see an old job come to fruition! That fab work goes back a way, and honestly for a while I wondered what would became of it -- until you finally ordered that intercooler. Then it started to come together...
...and it suits that car perfectly.
And the power was good, plenty for such a lightweight car.
You killed it with the details again! Congrats!

So Tate! I'm a little confused, is this the same car or is it your other 91? Turbokraft takes the RWB to the next level

That is another car. That is a 4.0. Twin turbo. Backdate 4 wheel drive car we built months back.
This is a different motor and car. Thanks. T

Alright. Now THAT is an answer.

I still think tire stencils are kind of douchey, and even though I wouldn't put them on my own car at least now I understand that they have a significant meaning ... and that's cool by me.

I meant what I said about the car looking great. It's the first and only RWB-bodied car that got it perfect. And putting a bad-ass turbo motor in the engine compartment just makes it that much cooler.

GOOD JOB!

Marco. I believe you have a shop in LA. I have been restoring 911's at my shop in atlanta for 30 years.... I have never had an employee who works as hard or is as detail oriented as Akira Nakai. When he is done with a car the factory gaps in the doors and hood look terrible.... He spends hours resetting them..... So that his entire car does not look bad.... It is a work of art to him and he takes it personally. I am shipping this car to Leno tomorrow. Would love to bring it by and show it to you and let your drive it. Tate
