The oil ? Has been beaten to death. You'll find for every kind of oil there are 100 conflicting opinions. Lots of threads on the oil topic. Personally I think BP is Way over rated and WAY over priced. Good luck.

I have the new cam hose in hand. Do I need new banjo washers or other? I haven't sourced them yet.

About the oil, I'm going with Valvoline VR1 20W-50. Was able to pick it up locally and quite reasonably priced at $4.88/qt.

Are the washers something I can source locally? I didn't order any from Pelican.

Replacing the cam hose now. I want to remove the distributor but the control wire is still connected. There is a screw holding the plastic piece in place.

Is this a connector?

It looks like the other end of the wire goes straight into the wire harness and doesn't have a connector on the other end.

The new piece look similar to the existing piece but not the same.

The tap-off port is located further up the pipe and the bend in the compression fitting end is facing the wrong way.

What is up with this? Is the the wrong part or just different?

OK, the compression end of the new pipe is ok.

Turns out the connection to both sides of the existing hose are loose enough to spin easily by hand. Hmmm.....

Next question, since the existing hose had a pronounced "S" bend in it, is it possible to bend the new pipe (using a pipe bending tool) to minimize the hose bend?

I found the banjo washers on Pelican but can't find the compression fittings needed on the end of the pipe. Where can I find this part?
