Hey fellas, since 400+ whp from an EFI swap will absolutely destroy my 915, I'm thinking I could dail back the boost from my current .9 bar to .8 or .7 and still have a power increase and the reliablility of EFI. What do you think? Then maybe I won't kill my trans so fast?

More than that, plan on head work.

In our experience, this notion of "small ports is better velocity and more low rpm torque" is not applicable when running programmable engine management. You can put stock 3.2L Carrera heads on the same 3.3L, big 41.5mm ports, and the engine gains torque everywhere.

Swap out the 915 for a turbo and crank up th boost you know, "While you're in there"

^^^ Yes I hear you but I'd like to wait a little bit before spending $10k plus on a tranny swap.

You would still get all the other benefits of EFI as well. Improved driveability, throttle response, efficiency etc.

TK EFI 36mm / GT30 / Wavetrac diff / Billet side cover, w larger bearing / Internal bearing plate if coming apart / transaxle cooler system / 1986.5- output flanges / driveshafts (larger g50 type). All should be smooth and efficient with that setup.
