Is there a way to import dead time and small pulse width data to tunerstudio?
The info can be found on ID web site and is on exel format. I'd like to get theese right before startup and writing them separately is time consuming and might give errors too.

I see that tunerstudio only has few cells to fill even though id gives massive accuracy so I'll just hand edit them.
TS on goes to 2ms on small widths but I guess its just fine. I think I will start at 3bar base fuel pressure and see how it goes. Easier for the pumps I guess and this is not your superpowa engine anyway. |
Why does tunerstudio say "13.2V must be 100%" when ID provides 13 to be (110%) so 13.2 is somewhere around 114%?
Do I just use 100% or the 110% that ID provides for 13V? Its not that big of a difference so maybe its vise to stay with the MUST BE 100%. EDIT: Found the answer on MS3 setting dead time howto - Miata Turbo Forum -Boost cars, acquire cats. So I have to use that 13.2V value for 100% on the left cell for dead time start point and below is the way to correctly calculate it and it's DT @ 13.2V = 1100 us ************************************************** ***************** The deadtime is specified at 13.2V. So one linearly interpolates the value like this? 12V --> 1240us 14V --> 990 us slope = m = (990 - 1240)us/2V = -125 us/V y = mx + b 990 us = -125us/V * 14V + b = -1750us + b b = 990 us + 1750us = 2740 us therefore DT = -125us/V * V + 2750us DT @ 13.2V = 1100 us Then I scale the other values to 1100 us? Like 8V --> 2600 ---> 2600/1100 = 236.4% 10V --> 1675 ---> 1675/1100 = 152.2 % 12V --> 1240 ---> 1240/1100 = 112.7% 13.2 = 100% 14V --> 990 ---> 990/1100 = 90.0% 16V --> 805 ---> 805/1100 = 73.2% ************************************************** ***************** |

I also found ID1000 data settings for megasquirt from ID web page, funny it did not show up on any of the search results.

Smurf that's the one I used as well. The "new" small pulse widths really fine tunes your idle as well as initial throttle tip in. I was going to send you the same chart. Oh well. Hurry up and start tuning that thing!!!!

Hey, I have 6 months before I get to drive it so no rush to first start. Besides, I now live in a condo that has apartments above my garage and I'm getting some white puffs of smoke if not driven regularly so it gets troublesome. Also one older lady above has already yelled "stop smoking" even though there was no smoke but rich idle, huh. Zork does not help either as its pretty loud when cold but not so much when hot.
So I will be working slowly and enjoying the trip with my first DIY EFI and doing other stuff in the meantime like modding the WG flange, porting intake to match 40mm alublocks and rs interior. Gas_heater, rim fixing+proper paint optional. I also found your maps for hot start problems I will be implementing beforehand. So far I have stripped 9 kilos of CIS stuff off. I hope to loose about 7 kilos when all is done. I saw your PP garage and "1000 cc injectors, e-85 fuel" so have you tuned your cold start tables or is it a nice weather 930? I'm thinking 400% crank pulse under 10C or abouts. I have 600% on my audi with me7.1 but it sees -25C |

Lite, a little explanation for that please. If I have dead time values from injector suplier why would I use some MS generic curve?

By all means use the dead time values supplied by ID. I think when you figure this up using the standard fuel pressure you'll be real close to this setting.

Is the curve 3 done by ms folks for id1000 injectors?
