Some people on the tehcnical forum have tried to measure the output but the results vary ALOT. There are some VDO specs though like
Quote:
The VDO sender is supposed to be 10-180 ohms for a 0-5 BAR gauge. The gauge should read 1 bar at 29.6 ohms and zero bar at 10 ohms

One guy measured his
Quote:
Oil pressure (indicated gauge psi vs input resistance):
140 psi = 182 ohms
100 psi = 145 ohms
60 psi = 94 ohms
20 psi = 46 ohms
0 psi = 17 ohms
|
Other guy measured a new sensor
Quote:
0 bar / 9.4
1 bar / 64.0 ohms
2 bars / 85.3 ohms
3 bars / 112.2 ohms
4 bars / 139.4 ohms
5 bars / 168.9 ohms
6 bars / 178.3 ohms
|
So it looks like even new one is out of spec if it was VDO? I might be able to measure those myself and that could give enough resolution/accuracy for CTL usage for hot starts.
For oilpressure I found these measurements for 911 sensor (930 could be totally different)

So unless I use an adapter for another pressure sensor I need to measure this one too. It would be cool to be able to use the stock one though for more authentic look. I will try to use my 123/TUNE distributor for cam sync anyway (points type output) but if the VR next to it gives too much trouble then a HALL sensor in the air pump housing (I have a bolt in there already but the hole I thought I could use on the housing is in the wrong place so more tinkering, heat shield interference)
