Scavenge pump
Today I had a chat with a rebuilder of turbos and he was well versed with my K27 7006. From what he discussed with me suggests that unless the bearing has let go it was unlikely that the turbo is the problem. He suggested the issue could be more to do with the scavenge pump.
Question is can I test if it works once I remove it as now the exhaust, catch return can, turbo and intercooler have been removed. Secondly can a scavenge pump be rebuilt as I read that they are no longer in production. Thanks sbk930. ![]() ![]() |

You test it when engine is running with external bottle/canister to see the level, so not really possible to test otherwise. There are sealing kits for the pump and if the dovelpin has gone bad you can use some other similar size parts. There are threads for testing/rebuilding here if you search.

If the test fails, Clewett has a very good aftermarked scavenge pump

But spendy. I also thought about purchasing it as it has cam timing setup for EFI.

there are seals on the shaft that keep oil from leaking out. they look like little piston rings, there are 2 on each end. they can and will leak oil.
if you have your muffler off check the shaft for play. if oil is coming out, have it rebuilt.

Just re-sealed mine. It's a piece of cake. TurboKraft sells the seal kit for it.
