oil cooler and hard lines
All,
i got a lead on a used (i was told it was good) original 930 oil cooler (3.3) and the hard oil lines running along the rockers, in excellent shape. The owner wants me to make him an offer... what is the going rate for something like this? I still need to clean the oil cooler and flush the lines. $500 too much? Thank you JD Last edited by CASair; 12-05-2016 at 07:42 AM.. |

Obviously you haven't checked the price of these items from Porsche.
$500 would be reasonable considering the coolers typically sell for $300 -$400 used.

Thank you. I struck the deal for $500. I will have the lines and oil cooler ultrasonically cleaned. Lines look great.

Good for you!
Save some money, run some kerosene through the lines flus good with water. Ok to do ultrasonic clean and pressure test on cooler. Did you get thermostat along with lines? Be carful separating the therm from the lines.. as you can sometimes strip the aluminum threads.

Mineral spirits from home depot, or what I use as it flashes off much quicker and doesn't leave any residue, is Coleman camp fuel.....basically naptha.
