930 trailing arm- tool to confirm spec
My 1987 930 is complete and looks terrific after a long repair/restoration process. The final item is alignment of the driver's rear wheel. The shop doing the work is well known and trusted. The tech cannot get the driver's rear camber in alignment. We suspect that the trailing arm may have been compromised when I hit the tire wall a few years ago. The car has received a cellette alignment by Porsche specialist and a glass out bare metal reapray.
I remember seeing recently a post including a special Porsche tool which can be used to determining be if a trailing are is in spec. Does this exist and where could I rent one before dropping mucho $ on new trailing arm and associated labor. Thanks everyone! |

Nut- I think we are thinking the same. The frame should be withinin spec and I have to go with that assumption for the time being for my own sanity.
So, I'm thinking the trailing arm is tweaked. My thought was to isolate to the trailing arm by confirming it out of spec with this tool that I remember seeing. JJ- thanks for the link but I think that tool serves to make adjustments and not measure. The tool I am thinking of is like a jig that is placed on the trailing arm to make sure it's good. |

The Tools you are looking for are P 295 and P 295b Trailing Arm Alignment Fixture. Under the order number 000 721 295 00 & 000 721 295 20 its NLA.
