TPS and TB for pancake manifold?

My stock tb is somewhat machined where the TPS adapter is normally bolted (upper bolt hole machined of) and there is a plug at the axle end. Is there a adapter for the shaft to tps connection available?

Or

Is there a easy upgrade tb available if the pancake itself is not a bigger bottleneck with 40 mm outlets.

Hi smurfbus,

There is a nice TPS kit from TK. It includes a replacement TB shaft and adaptor plate for the TPS.

There are some nice close up shots in the videos filmed by "speed academy", while TK was building his motor.

TurboKraft Full Engine rebuild, EFI, + more - Build Thread

Cheers

Saw that but I already have a sensor and flange for it. I might have to buy that tk kit anyway as its clever and looks like comes with longer rod too.

How should I remove the plug? Drill straight or punch through from the other side after removing the rod by pulling? I dont want to do permanent damage to the TB.

EDIT: It popped out with a small whack on cable side end. Now its obvious I need a longer butterfly rod. Even with no nut on the other end it would not reach the sensor.

So if there are no upgrade throttle bodys available for pancake manifold I need to mod/lenghten the rod or buy the TK kit.

I have a brand new TPS kit from TK (including longer shaft etc), I don't mind taking some photos if that would be helpful to you.
I bought it but then decided to convert to drive by wire and ended up replacing the whole TB!

I drilled and tapped the short rod so I can use 4m bolt for extension. Just need to find the correct angle for tps lock up and grind the bolt end so its tight against tps. Which tb did you go for?

My mechanic offered me a good used one from 996 turbo, from another client that upgraded to a larger TB.
A google search on the Porsche part# indicates that this TB is used on various P car models.

You need to either modify the TB or make an adaptor plate to mount it to the pancake manifold. The position of the 4x mounting studs is similar but not a direct fit.

Thanks. It seems my tps kit missed the longer rod and its on its way now.

So now you have also some throttle potentiometer on the pedal assembly or did you use the cable for throttle sensor measuring?

My plan is to install the e-throttle potentiometer at the end of the throttle cable (on top of the engine). I don't want to make changes to the throttle pedal itself.
