After installing my larger turbos last year,a very small turn of my boost knob resulted in sometimes 4 additional lbs. of boost or more. So I made this set up. Turn boost as far down as needed for 1st gear, sometimes 2nd and as mph goes up I can add 2 lbs more with either a flip of switch or temp button on steering wheel. 2nd button adds 2 more lbs as needed. All are infinitely adjustable to any setting. So low,medium and high as conditions allow.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1487007696.jpg

What efi are you using? This seems like something that could be accomplished with much less plumbing if you had the right ecu.

I would much rather have the ability to add boost as the situation allows, than have the computer turn it up in a certain gear or mph.

My Greddy EBC has two settings - each of which you set with the turn of a knob. Then my WG has the spring setting. So that gives you 3 boost levels at the push of a button.

Most Greddy or HKS units will do all of this like Alan says. Some have a dip switch input you can wire up for gear dependent boost and/or a 'Scramble' mode for those aggressive passes.

I assume all the new EFI units will do the same.

With a "T" fitting in the boost line you can have both.

Adjustable boost done electronically or manually with a mechanical air pressure regulator is feeding some of the turbo's boost pressure to the top side of the wastegate instead of having it vented to atmosphere.
That way it takes more turbo boost pressure into the bottom side of the wastegate to open it.

On my 935's I would usually just set the boost 1 to 1.2 and disconnect that boost knob. Lack of discipline can get costly

On my motec controlled turbo motors I had toggle switch click, click , click, click that fed in at .1 bar increments
