Faabspeed re-circulation-bypass-hose, which parts is this replacing?

Hi
I am currently looking for upgrades for my Porsche and i came over this hose on Faabspeed.
Porsche 911 Turbo 930 C2 Turbo-Style Re-circulation Bypass Hose - Fabspeed Motorsport

What is the purpose of this hose?
Will it replace the orginal bypass valve or where should it go? This part?http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1223490856.jpg

I have also started thinking about changing out my stock IC to a long neck one.
Which one is the best for my setup, and will it actually gain me more hp?
The setup on my car today is:

SC camshafts
K-29 KKK Turbo
Turbokraft injectorblocks
OBX Headers
RarlyL8 exhaust
1 bar wastegatespring
Kennedy Engineering clutch
MSD CDI ignition

I believe that hose is used in conjunction with the newer 964{??} style blow off valve, as that is a copy of the 964{??} style elbow hose.

That style blow-off valve is attached at that small top opening on that Fabspeed red hose.

You would then disconnect or block off the old sliding piston re-circulation system that is on the base of the stock 930 intake manifold.

Others will correct me if I have my head up my ass...:}

Hei Tor Erik,

Nice parts on your car. It certainly deserves a better IC.

I'd get in touch with Chris at turbokraft and have him make you one fitting your goalS. I'd also have him supply the later style elbow as well as a later style BOV.

it would replace all that crap above BUT you have to change the blow off valve and the IC.
I don't know if there is an adapter for the stock IC to the throttle body

I have a 7006 turbo, I don't know what you can get to replace the connector from the turbo to the rubber boot you are looking at, but instead of 350, if you can use the 964 boot it is only $50.

boosted79 02-16-2017 07:02 AM

$350 for a $25 piece of silicone, that is rubber room pricing... Get yourself a 964 elbow and BOV from our host and use an exhaust adapter as a transition piece from the intake elbow to the turbo intake with a couple of silicone connectors. I welded mine up but that is not necessary. You'll still need a long neck IC.

BOV Part #: 993-110-337-51-M93

Thanks guys :)
So anyway i need a long neck IC?
Faabspeed says this on their site : Compatible with OEM intercooler, Fabspeed's Long-Neck Performance Intercooler, and most others

So i would still need an adapter for the intake? Sorry for dumb questions, but trying to figure out how the intake system on my car is working.

I think the price is crazy for just a hose yes, so would never go for that one. But i was just wondering if i could make up something similar if it could remove the old bypass system.

Thanks for part numbers boosted79 :)

I think the long neck ic is quite an expencive update, but you think it is worth it?
The weather in Norway in the summer could be cold, but better cooling for the intake couldn't hurt anyway i guess.
Which one will you prefered? Is there any of the LN ic without red silicone hoses?

I would have a look at turbokraft yes, thanks :)

Longneck intercooler, all black anodized for a more OEM appearance, all C2T updated boost recirculation valve parts included, sturdy mounts and o-ring seal to the throttle body

And NO ricer-red silicone hoses.

Currently revising the design to be an even easier bolt-in fitment, less end tank volume, and no modifications to the stock air filter housing.

boosted's setup is like mine cept I have a RUF IC.

it is nice not having that mess under there.

not sure how it works with OEM

Hmm, that Turbokraft ic looks really nice! how much for shipping to Norway?

Jeff NJ 02-16-2017 09:16 AM

I have the TurboKraft long neck IC. Very happy with it!

Don't forget to let me know when the new design is ready. SmileWavy

I have the porsche 964 elbow brand new and never used it. Just in case someone wants/needs one. I have had it for a couple of years and never used it. Can let it go cheap.

In case you wanted to see the fabspeed hose. I used self-bonding silicone to get rid of the red.

do not hesitate to do this - the space liberated in the bay and the throttle response / flow increase / driveablity increase are all immense!

will complement your existing mods *quite* well!

looking fwd to your impressions after install 8-)

Huge difference when i did mine..I think you will be really happy with this mod..

Thank you for all replies :)
I wanted a LN ic but for now i got me an Andial racing short neck ic for a good price in Norway.
Hopefully it would help a lot, but is there still a lot to earn on trottle response if i remove the old recirculation system? I was thinking if i should block the old bov and install a 965 style, but i guess this is not enough since the air will first go into the old chamber and then to the trottlebody if you now what i mean. I now if i change out the old system i would not install it again, but i still like to keep it and not chop it up to make a new "neck" for my ic. Then i would make something from scratch i think. What do you guys think?

Change out the old IC with the new one and leave it like is?
Change out the old IC with new and block of stock recirkulation system and go for the new albow with new bov?

Or change it out and remove all of the old system an make a new neck from the IC and straight to the throttlebody?

I now it would be easier to buy a long neck one, but it wouldnt be that fun ;) and also i would dobble the price on the new IC

boosted79 02-20-2017 07:35 AM

Check out my build thread "another 930 teardown" pg 5. I did exactly what you want to do, used a garretson (andial) short neck IC and made a transition piece from the IC to the TB. It's a lot of work to get it right.

maybe just bring your I/C to a fab shop and have them make it a LN?

yes, the increase in throttle response is worth it
