Yep, I took the route that boosted79 did. I went to Summitt Racing, and for less that $60 put this together...Both threaded holes (in the outlet of the scavenge pump, and the breather cover were M14x1.5), and used -8 AN fittings and line.... All were from Fragola

Very nice! How do you like the 8:1 CR with your setup? I am looking at maybe 8.5 for next build on another car but maybe should stick with 8. What boost are you running?

I am running 8.3 to 1. And since getting the new turbo, will have to retune. On pump gas (93 oct) I will be running 16psi. On E85, 26psi... It drives like a N/A 3.6L off boost ;))))

Looks like your breather return hose is oil saturated. mine hardnend up started leaking then cracked I replaced that with a short section of rubber hose.

Yep, and that breather pipe/hose assy is damn expensive!! I will be replacing that before the engine goes in as well...

If you got a replacement it would probably also be old and brittle.

Use a piece of silicone hose. It will work fine in that service, have had it in turbo drain service on a diesel truck I have for years, no problemo.

looks like the new one is just a piece of rubber hose on the end too. Not the double crimped baided hose thats original.

Dumping oil down the crankcase vent might not be the bestest idea....

It's been done many times with no problems. No different than putting it into the sump plate or chain cover.

My take is that you are dumping oil on top of the rotating assembly with this arrangement, which costs some power by hanging oil up in the case. Sort of defeats the point of a dry sump in my view.

Study the pic below. You can see that neither the chain cover nor the sump plate will do that.

Also, another tip. If you have the choice, the '85 and later cases are slightly stronger, as the oil sump hole is removed. See above pic.

The scavenge oil goes in just ahead of the rear most breather cover bolt. The internal baffle will direct it against the back of the case and then will run down. Yeah, some may get on the #3 rod throw and cost a 1/4 HP at 7000 rpm.

Exactly, and I always thought that the dry sump system was originally designed to always keep a positive flow of oil to the engine during extreme cornering. Of course, the reduction of the crank having to drag through the oil is also a good reason, but I thought not the primary reason.

And if it costs me 1hp... so be it. I think I will have plenty of HP in a 2100lb car.. LOL
