Lowering to Euro height
Do the original eccentrics on the spring plate have enough adjustment to allow a car to be dropped from USA to Euro height w/o screwing around with the TB's? If not, this ER piece will solve the problem and can be used with my factory plates, right?

If you're replacing your spring plate with this one, you're already messing with your t-bars... this is a little costly if all you're after is set it and forget it at euro height...
For close to the cost of this piece you could take to an alignment shop and ask them to lower and corner balance.

My experience, and what others have told me is typical from the factory, is that the adjuster on the oem spring plate is set so you can raise the car, but not really lower it. You'll probably have to adjust the TB's to get it close and set the spring plate adjuster to the middle so you can adjust up or down from there once installed. PITA, but once you have it set, you need to align it and you wont want to change it once set, or you'll need to align it again. It has certainly kept me from playing with the ride height once I got it set and aligned.

My experience is this is not that simple anymore. One of the well known Porsche shops in the area, that I was told to use, told me they stopped corner balancing years ago. Shops are moving on to later model car repairs and the older technicians are retiring.

Yeah, I guess I'll just mess with the TB's. I went through it a few years ago when I replaced the TB bushings, I should have just dropped it then when I had it all apart. Has anyone figured out a way to corner balance with a single scale?

Would love to corner balance mine, but around here they say....."corner what?....let me see what my iPhone has to say about that." You can do it yourself at home. Just buy 4 bathroom scales made for reallllyyyyy fat people.

You might be able to rent or borrow a set of airplane scales from your local EAA chapter or friendly airplane mechanic. Most bathroom scales aren't that big of a range and won't be accurate at either end of the range most likely.

I found this guy local that will rent the scales. Stay Tuned Motorsports – Tuning Out Technical Difficulties
I have the alignment strings and scales reserved for Sat 5/27. For $120.00 and my Saturday it seems well worth it. I already own a FastTrack Camber Gauge. I have some bars with strings I strap to jack stands for toe. I figured I would try his Watkins Smart Strings for $40.00. Being able to corner balance will be fun. I found an online calculator that is supposed to help dial in where you should be. The internet can make these tasks seem easier than they are though.
