TK IC install, question.
Hi,
I'm in the proccess of installing a longneck Turbokraft IC and trying to figure out all the connections. Looking at the old bov assembly can any one tell me what this connection is and where it goes after removing the old bov and installing the new IC and the new boost diverter valve assembly? i'm also planning to remove the decel valve and cap the ports on the manifold and IC, will it be correct to connect the small vacuum line that went to the decel valve and connect it directly to the new boost diverter? http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1495398419.JPG |
I am not sure, but it looks like the line to the wastegate. On my TK IC, that banjo bolt screws into the underside of the IC itself near the drivers side front corner. Follow that line and tell us where it goes if not to the wastegate.

It's not going to the wastegate. Haven't been able to see where it goes, but will try to get a better look today

Do you have a mechanical boost gauge where the clock used to be? I have seen that port used as a boost signal port for a mechanical boost gauge.

Was able to figure out where it goes to. It goes to the distributer vacuum advance unit on my distributor. It is connected to the back port which i believe is the boost pressure retard. So where should i now connect this, Same place as the where the wastegate gets it signal from the IC?

John, check your email. Sorry we did not email the instructions prior.

But the current vacuum plumbing to your wastegate (looks like a single-port vacuum pot) is not correct. That distributor vacuum line is supposed to go to a port on the throttle body. Is there a vacuum diagram sticker on your rear decklid? If not, the owner's manual, or plenty of references here on line to tell you which port for your year 930. I would not tee it into the WG line, leave that a dedicated circuit. |
Chris, thank you for your input.
Here is a picture of my vacuum diagram sticker. The vacuum device on the distributor has two hoses connected to it. The front one that you see is attached on the front of the throttle body (towards rear of car), the other one that is not visible is the one that was connected to the old bov http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1495479218.JPG |
Found a diagram that i believe is correct, it's the line circled in yellow that i need to know where to connect.
All air injection/smog parts have been removed. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1495480017.PNG |
As a side note or observation, it looks like your alternator fan is starting to contact the fan housing. Could be trouble down the road.

Thanx for noting, will check the fan:)

I think this picture shows my current setup pretty good, now where to connect the line that i have circled, i don't have the point (marked B)at the throttle body that the picture shows.

Take a top-down photo of your throttle body, please

Here is some info from my foray into vacuum line routing.
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1392755047.jpg This is what I settled on when I deleted the decel valve, I didnt have the enrichment solenoid stuff at this point. Hope this helps. https://c1.staticflickr.com/4/3805/1...6dce47ac_b.jpgIMG_5780 by Shannon, on Flickr Thread here - http://forums.pelicanparts.com/911-930-turbo-super-charging-forum/797183-cruise-surge-boost-issues.html |
Thank you 16volt,
That would be the correct way as i understand, if i had the port marked 5 on your drawing. However i do not, i talked with Chris from Turbokraft yesterday and the conclusion was that i have to take the signal from the IC. I think my throttle body is from a row/euro car. |
