jim,

just a data point...hendrick Porsche in charlotte conducted the ppi for my buyer. they told me that cars in the condition as ours do not appear with any regularity. they indicated that they had just sold a "driver" quality 86 930 for $96k. I think the pricing is not easy to get our arms around as we have held these cars for so many years and often undervalue what we have.

the $85k you seek will turn out to be a true bargain for anyone who is transacts on yours.

Let me just say that is a 150k car all day here in OZ.
I know some that would jump on it. Shame the steering wheel is on the wrong side.

ps. as others have said, do not stray to far from the forum as you have been a great help. THANKS.

As some of you know Jim and I live about 3 blocks from one another, and I have known him for over 20 years. We both did the BMW thing for many years . One day about 12 years or so he pulls into my driveway with the most beautiful 930 I had ever seen, it was then I went searching for mine. As it has been said by others, whom ever get jims car will get a well sorted car.. I can still go over and take him for a boost run every now and again

Well I hate to see this happening. I feel bad for not dropping by now that I live here too. I think you should be asking more though it's a beautiful very well maintained car. Great color combination.

Good to hear you'll stay around!

Once the prices drop out of insanity, you can pick up another.

Thanks everyone. It is a real sad feeling... it comes down to needing money and I don't drive it much these days.
It's going to a good person.

I'll stay around the forum I like the people here and I don't know what I would do with my free time if I completely stopped reading and posting. I'd miss at least reading stuff.

The car is just a car, a material thing and in the end it's not really important. I got to enjoy it for around 11 years.
Thanks for all the nice words.
Jim

Jim - GLWS and glad to see you'll still be offering advice on here.

PS - want to buy a '70 E-type coupe? Total resto needed, I don't think I have one left in me.

She left a couple hours ago.
A sad day but I'm glad I got to enjoy the car while I had it.

I'll be reading posts and if I feel like I can help in some way I'll still post.
Have a good one everybody
Jim

Sad day indeed Jim. Did it go to NY like was alluded to earlier? Is he a member here?

Definitely stay active here. Your sage advice to many of us from your years of experience has helped us all immensely and we all hope that continues.

Hi Jeff, yes it went up to the NYC area.

The new owner is a good guy and he's not a member here.
Someone else that is a member of the Pelican forums that knew he was looking for one saw my for sale post and gave him my number.
Then he got in touch with me and flew down to Florida to see it.
He got me down in price a bit and it's all done now.

I was one of them who passed it along Jeff. He is here in Rockland Co. I will try and get him to become a member here also.

yes, it would be nice if the car can still be around. I'm sure he will have questions anyway.

We need to have a get together for the NY area peeps soon! I can be at the Tap in under and hour...

He's not going to commit an atrocity against humanity and convert it back to overly neutered, stock form, is he?!?!

Don't you go scaring new members away Rawknees!

In fact, there should be a 30 day moratorium on you commenting on any of his posts if he does join. Otherwise, you'll scare him away for sure!
