In love with EFI

Haven't been driving the car much lately. Took her out for a nice long drive yesterday. Forgot home fast and smooth with EFI. What a beast!!!! Love these old 930 motors with modern technology. Every one I take for a ride thinks it is unbelievable for an 83. The vette guys hate seeing this think from the back. lol.

Glad youre enjoying it so much! I hope to be there myself in a couple years with an EFI swap. I took my CIS turbo hotrod to work today, blasting down the backroads in the early morning is the perfect way to start the day, and scare some bicyclists

You did it right by having an experienced tuner tune yours.

EFI is no better than carbs if tuned poorly.

Tuned right, and there's not much comparing to anything else.

I'm jealous. I wish I could put EFI on mine.

It's take your Turbo to work day Puddy.

My little 3.0 liter really likes EFI. It loves to rev. Full throttle in 1st the revs come up so quick that I barely have time to shift to 2nd. The ability to set spark for all engine conditions is a big plus. I still need to upgrade to larger injectors.

Dap930 - I don't have EFI and my 1st gear is useless. I got into boost and have to shift immediately. I put it in 2nd before I light the fuse!

Here mine at work!

Dap930, you need to upgrade that inter cooler, I had the same one on my car and went to a full bay, the difference was unbelievable.

I went full bay and didn't notice anything. It's a good intercooler. I was only .9bar though.

John I want to take your car for a spin for a back to back on CIS and EFI. My son is a cadet at West Point so I'm over there now and then. I'd love to meet up sometime.

Puddy, that car/color looks great!

I'm running 16lb, maybe because my motor is 3.5 L and I'm running gt35 billet, it was night and day with new intercooler.

EFI is the ticket, I'm really impressed. 1986 930 3.4L MoTec M84 and custom Garrett G35.

Yep... Same car that Ray built with Dawes Motorsports but with fresh motor management upgrade & tune by DBW Motorsports in ATL. Love this car that I have chased for about a year before capturing.

Hah I've always wanted to break a tranny... wheres Rawknees when you need him..

Seriously tho i'm pretty gentle on it on street and a little harder on track. Its only been refreshed a couple times over the last 20 years. Its been beaten pretty hard by the previous owner. 2nd and 3rd are starting to protest gear changes a little. So its a close to needing a refresh.
