Slip-sliding away-again-down the slope

Been thoroughly enjoying my 99% stock 930 since the fateful day that I lost my other and acquired this one....with my sincere thanks to so many of you.

A few years of stock'ish performance is fine, but I know there's more under the hood to be had and finally said to myself: "fark it, stock can always go back to stock". So today I spent hours and hours buffing the baked-on goo off of my B&B IC that was up close and personal to the BBQ of years past. It's "presentable", just barely, but was begging to be put back in service. So....it's a done deal.

What's next??? Perhaps the surviving the 7006 gets slapped on and we'll see if it really did survive the carnage. My current 3LDZ, though in really good condition, just doesn't hook 'em up quite to my liking.

Here we go.....again.

Really nice to see you slangin' some mods again, Mark, and super cool that you were able to salvage that B&B from the burned mess of your former ride!

Mark, good to hear you've been enjoying it to the point of wanting more. That IC looks pretty good for having survived what it did. What are you running exhaust wise these days?

Yeah, get the 7006 out.
Now maybe we can make a list for you :-)
Good to hear. But the kick in the pants from the 3LDZ is cool, if not inconvenient at times.
Get those spanners out. You know how this goes.
Regards
Alan

Well....that took longer than I thought it would! I was beginning to think you got old or something.... glad to see that this is not the case.

Happy wrenching, and good luck with the barbeque 7006, since the intercooler survived, the turbo seals should still be ok too.

Mark

She came with a Borla; would love to slap on my surviving Fabspeed but it will take much more work than the IC to clean up. Amazing how melted fiberglass, rubber, paint, flaming oil and 20 gallons of gas, car seats, carpet and such can leave a permanent crust. Those memories are starting to fade with age; time to get back on the bubble.

Mark, you old quack you! Yeah, for sure I'm getting older as we all are....planning on retiring next April or so if I don't chicken out. Need to get this money-pit stuff done before then, since I'll be on a "fixed income" as they say (I've been on a fixed income all my life....it's called a salary....so what's to change??).

The 7006 didn't spin very well post-BBQ, but it was full of fireman water. Lubed the crap out of it and she now spins freely. Guess we'll see if the seals made it.

Mark, I suppose an MSD Al-2 would be the next step and maybe all you need for a while. I will be interested to see what distributor timing and curves you run as I may be going down this path sometime this year.

Box your 7006 up, and send it here:

https://g.co/kgs/YwqHXp

Ask for the #9 hot housing/k29 cold side conversion.

Slightly earlier boost onset, more power everywhere.
