Coa

I would like to know.....
Firstly is it possible to get a COA for a 1978 930
Secondly can it be done from Australia.
And some say they are good, others that they have incorrect info.

Reason being I have a 250 digit difference between the vin and engine numbers for my 1978 and would really like to know why.

Engine # will not match the car, call a dealer and talk to the service dept. a manager would be best.

Give them the VIN and they CAN give you the engine and transmission numbers unless they want to be a$$ holes about it.

Did that when I first bought it and was told it was a Japan car when obviously it's a RoW.

But will try again.

Yes you can get a coa, and yes the info is only as good as the person retrieving. Ive seen several that have nothing more than the vin and engine number. I have heard that a few have had success giving any info they had about the car, engine no, trans no, especially options, but be pretty sure it's correct as they'll probably try to verify. If you make their job easy they may take the extra time to put more info on the coa.

I got mine verified at rennsport reunion IV, PCNA had a booth and they were looking up vins and telling people engine, trans and option codes. It was really cool.

I want to say that the numbers on the motor compared to the numbers on the vin were off by 11 or so digits but i am not totally sure on that, hopefully some of the experts can chime in.
