Not many couldnt upload the vids I took, mostly broken trees in the yard. Power is back on at my house since yesterday afternoon. Which is good cause i couldnt get my generator that i bought during hurricane andrew to run. Have to replace the screen in my pool screen. About half of it blew out. No idea how to get up there to do that since they get rolled from the top. The car is fine by the way.

as long as the car is good.

I was without power for about a week with Mathew. it really was not that bad. lost some stuff in the fridge and thank goodness it was cool enough at night to sleep.
the hot water heater stayed hot for about 4 days so showers were not too bad.
had the grill for cooking

Lost power day one still don't have it. Lat hurricane it was out foe 13 days. Soon as my daughter is off to college ( in 4 years) I'm off to north Georgia or somewhere away from this bs. I'll miss the ocean but surfing is only a plane ticket away. So Fla is an armpit anyway

Come on up to the Smokies where the roads are made for Porsche enthusiasts!

Half of my brother's party left yesterday to travel back to the Lakeland area. 10mph on Rt 75. My brother and his family are going to attempt the drive today. They still have no power where they live in Tampa. Going to be a rough trip and no relief when they get to their destination.

My power went out during the 80-90mph wind gusts. The little old termite ridden flat roof 1926 half house I rent was shaking but it survived.
Power surprisingly came back on after around 6 hours that night.
Having AC, light, and internet sure beats sitting in the dark staring at a candle.

Fences are bent over and trees are smaller now. A lot of cleanup to do in the 92 degree heat...
I'm still drinking charcoal filtered tap water I put in old beer bottles, pots, and whatever else would hold water. I don't know if they've said it's OK to drink the water yet or if there's a boil water notice going on.

I'm very glad the hurricane did not go up the east coast like they thought in the beginning. It's a real bummer for all the people in the keys and on the west coast of Florida. They got hammered really bad.

October and early November are the peak of hurricane season here... all we can do is hope no more of them this year.

Power came back on last night. I am out of the country until October but have good neighbors. Nothing but a few branches came down.

Thanks Ken, glad you're OK.

Here's a link to some storm chaser videos taken during Irma. The part where the guy gets out of the car to get the handheld 117mph wind speed reading is nuts...
There's more during and after videos to click on.

I will report from Miami. We really dodged the bullet here. I am far west yet the FIU model had up to three feet of water predicted at my location for a cat 5 hurricane. We had winds but no damage. Power went out for three days. Everything is pretty much back to normal with the arrival of fuel and food at the supermarkets. P car did just fine in garage, on the lift, ready for any water.

That's a good thing Frank. It was off for about 6 hours here.
Guess I was here when you stopped by. Probably on the can or the window shaker AC unit in my bedroom drowned out your knocks on the door.
People have knock on my shut bedroom windows for me to hear it during summer.
