Youíre going to want at least 964 cams with that compression, but Iíd recommend 993 super sport. Thatís what I have in my 8.3:1 twin plug turbo motor.

Since you're already going to use a Carrera 3.2 intake, you can use a plethora of TPS with a custom adapter. I'm using a mid '90's 325 TPS. All early to mid-'90's BMW's except the 318 fit the square D shaft.

2nd, the fuel rails on the 3.2 flow well enough for our motors. No need to upgrade.

I like my 80lb/875cc high-Z Siemens Deka injectors. ID1000 or bigger (if big hp E85) would be even better in idle quality. Mine idles just fine for me with the Dekas.

Thank you....wasn't sure about cams as I've seen the sc's are pretty aggressive for turbo applications but I have looking at 964 too

Yes analog run gas no E85 for me but was wondering what most are running for injectors. I like the idea of 80# too much more I think idling will be a big issue on the street

With ID injectors, idling is never an issue if your EFI system has granular enough injectot PW resolution.

SCs are about as UNaggressive as you can get. Even 993SS purr like a kitten on my high compression 3.4 running CIS. With that high of static compression, youíre going to want a cam that eases up dynamic compression. Trust me, 993SS is the way to go. They only get a bad rep from those who have not used them. If I had it to do over again, Iíd even go more aggressive with GT2s.

Yeah but I'm not running high compression I'm running either 8.0:1 or 8:5:1. Which hasn't been determined yet as I'm waiting on some data

kenikh 10-14-2017 05:33 PM

8.5 is HUGE compression for an air cooled 911 turbo without knock control. Even a 993 turbo only ran 9.2:1. These cars arenít Evo Xs or STIs. You need to design the engine correctly or youíll melt something.

Yes but I'm going to be running knock control... clewitt has a great system

kenikh 10-14-2017 05:38 PM

So am I. Just leave some margin, is all. Cam choice is critical or your dynamic compression is going to plasma cut you a paper weight.

That's what I'm working on now....Cams and compression, but should have it figured out pretty quickly plus running tech3r with full timing map control

kenikh 10-14-2017 05:42 PM

xtturbo, you sound like a Subie guy. Forester XT? I have a 22b replica motor I need to unload. :)

Looking for as much input as possible here from people's experience. It's a **** ton on money to grenade a motor

xtturbox 10-14-2017 05:46 PM

Way before that time....started with Subaru xt's in early 90's then wrx 2002 which couldn't make fast enough so built a 2006 3.2 stroked evo many moons ago

PM me RE: Tec3r. Iíve spent 2 years with a Tec3r and can share some thoughts.

And Iíve calculated every permutation possible on static to dynamic compression and cam, including boost compensation in the dynamic number.

Thank you!!!!

kenikh,

Did you have to fly cut valve pockets in the piston tops to use 993SS cams?
