Hargett shifter

My car is an 83sc cab chassis with EFIed turbo motor and short bell housing 4 speed turbo tranny. I put the Hargett shifter in about a year ago. Love the new location but having problem getting out of second gear. Never did this with original shifter. I talk to the guys over there they say I just have to keep trying to adjust it. I have tried everything and I just can't get it to work. Anybody else have this issue with one of these and know of a fix. The video shows me trying to get it out of second gear. Thanks John

That means you might *kick* it into 1st. I'm planning on using same shifter soon -- good luck.

Love the look, layout, and concept of the Hargett shifter but have never had luck with them, regardless of the version. The whole thing flexed, the lever came out of the shift rod, the rod angle is steep enough it rapidly wears out the shift rod seal on the trans... and then there's trying to get it to actually go into gear consistently.
After the last one resulted in 2 transmission rebuilds, I said enough, no more, only using other shifters.
