BPU699,

At 30 mph you will probably turning about 3,700rpm when you shift into first. To get into first you will need to double clutch by shifting into neutral, blip the throttle (rev the engine to over 5,000rpm while in neutral) with the clutch out. Then clutch in and shift into first gear before the rpm drops and hit the gas. Unfortunately you have to drive your 930 like you hate it to make it work best; there is no middle ground with these cars if you wan tot get full performance out of them.

Well that is how I do it when I don't want any excuses.

After a lot of research reading threads, talking with Stanley at GBox and fiddling with the gear chart spreadsheet. This is my plan; 18/26 (HQ) or 1.444 second gear and a 26/27 (QR) or 1.038 third gear.

I don't really want to change the Ring and Pinion for several reasons, i.e noise, set up time and most importantly it doesn't change the space between the gears.

Another little science project! My only concern is the drop between 3 & 4 now, but the car has "enough" power that it should not be a problem??

Carbster09,

Similar to what I was planning except that I think the 17/26 gear selection is a better choice. It gives you nearly identical rpm drops from 1st to 2nd( 2,114rpm) and 2nd to 3rd (2,146rpm) making it easier to match rpms when downshifting as you do not have to remember it's a 2,363rpm difference between 1st and 2nd and 1,865rpm between 2nd and 3rd as you would have to do with the 18/26 second gear you have chosen.
