Original windshield 1979 930

My 930 Turbo from 1979, has following text on the windshield

Made in West Germany
Infra AS 5
SIGLA D423
AS-1 Dot 25 M91

My question is whether this is the original windshield?
All other windows have correct Sekurit item numbers.

Believe that is the correct original glass for a North American '79 930 (also should have a wavy line mid-way and the Sigla symbol "heart" at the bottom.

The problem I have is located in the bottom part of the windshield, because of humidity it has got a white zone like you see on the picture.
Are there any ways to get rid of the white zone in bottom part of the windshield?
Is it possible to buy an original windshield with original description?
.

Unfortunately the answer is No and No.

New safety standards means the inscription will never be the same as it was in 79. Delamination cant be repaired either.

This was the same with my 79 930. It had a very cool option in which the bottom part of the front windshield had electric defrost.

It looks like hundreds of v pattern lines from the bottom 10 inches on the windshield.

This option was known something to the affect of “provisions for cold weather” or “provisions for germany”.

Here is picture of the label

Anyhow to my knowledge these are nearly impossible to source now days.

Mine delaminated much worse than the one above. I can say that it was so VERY light it weighed nearly nothing.

I’m sure the newer ones are heavier due to safety requirements...

Hi Folks,

I have a Switzerland-delivered (AMAG) '79 Turbo. Does anyone know what is the corresponding text on the original windshield? Also, is it supposed to be a clear windshield across?

Thanks in advance,

Humberto-

So are the Sekurit windshields not original equipment? I have a north american late car that I want to replace the windshield on as it has delaminated as many others are experiencing but I can only find Sekurit. Is there any others that are more original than that?

It is possible to polish off the logo and etch your own on there, but it's not easy to do.

In the later model years, like late 80's, were they made by someone else, like Sekurit?

While we are on the topic. I have a 78 930 that is pitted. I believe it is the original glass. What are you guys replacing your windshields with. I actually have two windshields to replace... Fun!
