Modified Insurance - Help!!!

Hagerty had requested new pictures and info for my car, I submitted 30 or so not thinking there would be any issue, big mistake! I was told they are not renewing my 930 because of my bolt in roll bar... I have a cage as well which is mainly for if I ever decided to race it some day... but the roll bar is what's in on the street. I told them I can take it out but they didn't have any interest in talking any further... has anyone run into this with just a roll bar, seems crazy, I feel like a quarter of the 911 guys I know have them!!!

Hagerty told me the same thing on my SC when I was quoting. I went with American Collectors.

Maybe check with your local Porsche club?

I go through Leland West, but my policy holder is American Modern... by name alone prob not avail on Canada...

A little off topic, but my premiums went up $200 (like 28%) just recently for no real reason, I’m assuming I’m now helping subsidize Florida and Texas claims...

Sometimes your "regular" ins carrier will offer specialty insurance (often through another player like a "hagerty" or equivalent). At least that is what my Allstate agent offered one time. Oh, and remove the bar before you take pictures next time

To quote a movie title...."Meet the fockers". That's insurance companies for you, always after your best interests. Never forget that they're there to serve you....when it suits them. The customer is always/sometimes right.

Canadian insurance is a nightmare, I've dealt with this very issue in the past and sadly it ended with them not wanting to insure the car.

I would try some local brokers as I'm sure there will be someone that will say yes. Good luck and keep us posted.

Thanks guys, my insurance brokers higher up is now involved and will be in contact with me later in the week. Not very happy, I've been with them for 4 years, my rates have doubled since I signed up, no claims... now this!

The majority of us have more than a one off policy with our agents, and that's key ...
Figure in the homeowners, the other cars/trucks, umbrella, pwc/boat, motorcycle and maybe even business liability/WC, that's leverage!

Threatened to pick up my marbles and go some where else and all of a sudden, my guy had a nice policy for me with an agreed value, towing, 250 deductible, full coverage (cheap too). It does pay to move all your stuff to one broker and work it out, been doing it for 20+ years with no issues. Also, the carrier is not some fly by nite, one of the major ones

Oh yeah, they could care less if it had a roll bar installed in it too, exterior pics
