This is my number one complaint with all the high-end ECUs. The top mount wiring prevents installations in areas that are discrete. Top wire routing works well for electronics boards where everything is open for access but not so much for underseat, heel panel, or other mountings.

I prefer all connections on one side of the box and not on the top.

Thanks Guys!

That was my concern. Mounting under the seat to keep it clean, but with the top mount wiring and having to bend the crap out of the harnesses to get it to clear a factory seat, clearance looks like a possible issue.

Jamie, completely agree. it's a lot easier to surface mount everything in production and let the end user figure it out!........not!

They could, at a minimum, provide a harness option with nice low profile 90 degree plugs. But that would cost too much, or take too much effort!

I didn't think it would turn out this well either... but as you can see, the wires are turned almost 90* to the connector at the ECU.

I know an online guy who is making a cover, if you will, that goes over the top of the connectors and routes out from the sides of the Pro box for more discreet installations.

He only has the design for the Gen 1 Pro's though.

If there's any real interest, I'll pass it along to him.

Andy has some great videos. Make sure you subscribe. His videos have helped me out a lot.
Phillip you should be able to fab up a sheet metal cover. How is you progress coming?
When do you think you will be ready to fire?

Hey John, no progress this week, I've been down with the flu... I'm leaving for the DR this weekend for 6 weeks, hope to get some maps loaded, and figure out the laptop end, which is a bit more challenging for me... may need lots of help here. Philip

GSF pully install

Well, I'm back at it... hope to get this done in the next couple of weeks. Today I test fit my GSF crank pully/toothed wheel. I had to take the die grinder to the fan housing so it will fit. Not a biggie, took about 20 minutes...

carrera head temp sensor

I'm using a Carrera temp sensor in the heads... sure is a tight fit to get it to go behind the scavange pump. Still have to put the tin on, just a test run, Anyone have any experience with this, or installed one in a NA Carrera.

I believe my sensor gap is somewhere around there as well. The spec is going to depend on which sensor you're using. That said, I didnt even measure the gap on my cam sensor since I didnt disassemble the scavenge pump so it wasnt accessible. I just tightened it down til it made contact with the magnet, then backed it off a couple turns. Havent had any issues.

Well, there was no way the wire for the Carrera cylinder head temp sensor was fitting under the tin. It left too much of a buldge, and the scavenge pump wouldn't pull tight to the cam tower. I ended up drilling a hole in the tin and this should work fine...

I have all my wires identified so I can easily connect then to where they belong Almost everything figured out now...I'll put the engine in place so I can figure the wire lengths.

Can the MS3 pro be installed in the engine compartment instead of in the cab since it doesnt fit under the seat?

The ms3pro fits under the seat, that's where mine is mounted. You're thinking of the MS3X. It is not recommended to mount it in the engine compartment.
