MS3Pro Evo install

I picked up my goodies from the shipper today. Going to swap out my SDS for the MS3 Pro. I'll post my progress, and seek some tips from those who have already done this install... going COP and sequential fuel and ignition. I'm going to pull the engine to do a general cleanup, and remove the SDS which I installed approx. 5 years ago. SDS was a good starter set, but MS has more options which I am looking forward to figure out. Philip

Definitely tuned into this one!

I have the whole MS3 + MS3X kit on the bench ready to build, but may save it for another project and go MS3 Pro EVO to save time.

Looking forward to the results!

Wow, Phillip that's very cool. So jealous. What are your plans? Injectors? Boost control? Wideband?
You should check out the MS Pro Gauge from Perfect Tuning. https://perfecttuning.net/en/
Looking forward to this build.

Hey John, nice gauge, but for now I'm just going to stick with the Innovative LC1 I already have installed. It's pretty well just a easy swap right now, with added COP, bigger injectors, sequential, just want to get it up and running, and master the tuning... but you know how it goes.... I'm sure I'll be hitting you up for some info, as your already a few steps ahead of me, and your install looks like a success. I want to get as much done in the next 3 weeks before we go back to our winter playground till spring. So, I'm going to have a busy schedule...

Are you planning on going with the Toyota COPs? They work great! I am doing the Perfect Tuning Gauge in the spring. Along with a LSU 4.9 Bosch Wideband. It's suppose to be more accurate.
Just hit me up anytime for any info.

Yes, already sourced the Denso COP's, and picked up one of Albert's GSF crank trigger/pulley. Porsche 911 Crank trigger pulley adapter kits with A/C | eBay
might get my meth injection connected to the MS, all depends how much time the install takes...

thinking of trying some Siemans Deka #80... see quite a few threads where they have been used. The Siemans Deka #57 I have in now work well, just the duty cycle is way up there. Anyone have any Injector Dynamics they want to sell ? Don't want to spend the money on a new set of these just just yet!

How much boost are you planning on running? If you have the injector data for your 57s, it will go along way to help optimize the VE table. If you are not planning on running E85 gas you might not need the Deka 80s. I found my Bosch 57 injector duty cycle was well below the 80%. at 1 bar.
Mind you I haven't found a stretch of road to truly test the car to red line.

I've been pretty happy with my Deka 80's. Idles good enough for me, even with MS2.

They were only $300 off eBay. Read some are counterfeit, guess I was lucky.

The older Deka 55 low-Z's idled poorly.

I am running Siemans Deka #55 injectors on my 3.0 liter. I am tuned for 1.2 bar boost. I exceed 90% DC when pulling 6500 - 6800 RPM, particularly when it is cool out and making good power. Injector PW is a little over 18ms, making it difficult to get all the fuel in and still be sequential at those engine speeds. AFR's are still 11.4 - 11.5 which is good. I had to adjust injector timing to end the injection pulse over halfway into the intake stroke at those engine speeds. I plan to upgrade my injectors to correct this. So I would start with a larger injector to give yourself some extra headroom for tuning. I started out with 44# injectors which were way too small. I should have gone at least 60# injectors.

Good point John, I did install the 964 FPR to bump up the pressure... I only run 1 bar, but it spikes to 1.2 on my tell tale boost gauge, even with the 1.75" exhaust and twin 38MM waste gates. I may wait to see what MS can do with theses injectors...but they are low impedance injectors. No E85 in the plans for me. Philip

You definitely want the Hi Z injectors. I would go with the Deka 80s. That will give you lot's of overhead, for the future if you decide to up the boost. Just make sure you get all the injector data.
