AC Temperature switch replacement

Hi Gang. Anybody know how to replace the AC temperature switch on a 1988 930? I was removing the center console and I accidentally broke the skinny steel tube that connects to the AC temperature switch. To install the switch at the center console looks pretty straight forward but I have no idea where the white steel tube leads to on the other end. It looks like it snakes up into the dash. This is where I get lost. The part I'm referring to is this: https://www.pelicanparts.com/cgi-bin/ksearch/pel_search_2016.cgi?command=DWsearch&description=AC+Temperature+Switch+ Part #911-613-121-01-OEM

I tried to search but couldn't find much data on it.

I would greatly appreciate any help offered. Thanks.

That is the temperature sensing capillary tube that reads the temp of the evaporator core (it is filled with a small amount of refrigerant gas) - it passes through the bulkhead, into the smugglers' box, through the lid of the evaporator/blower housing and into the evaporator core fins (there is a long, tiny copper tube that is stuck into the evaporator core fins and the end of the capillary tube slides into that - sounds kinky, I know !!! ). Open up your smugglers's box hatch and you will see what I mean.
