Just get rid of all that garbage and install an inertia sw in the engine bay with a toggle sw up front.

Second this. Just make sure the inertia switch cuts off everything including ignition and both fuel pumps

Why a toggle switch?

So you can turn the pumps off with ign. on if you want to. I put it in the pump relays coil ground side, in series with the overboost sw. This is on a '79. Inertia sw is out of Ford Taurus, they put them in probably 10 mill+ vehicles, $5 @ the pick and pull. Eliminates probably the most common problem on these cars, the air meter contact and relay.
