Does anyone know/recognize this car? "Purple" 1978 Turbo from Oregon
Curiosity has got the best of me this morning, I am wondering if anyone knows of/recognizes this car? Was sold by a gentleman named Gordon in ~2005 who lived in Oregon. That's the last I know about it - just curious if anyone knows where it ended up and/or perhaps the VIN.
Thanks! ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by patina; 02-25-2016 at 05:24 AM.. |

I think Ken would have the purple one, Barbie would have the Silver Rose edition.

Aubergine gets you P#ssy. Pic 3 proves it.
Actually love aubergine. And so rare but a great 911 color.

Google pictures of the 1967 Triumph Bonneville. I've been a fan of Aubergine for many years because I always loved the 1967 model Bonnie above all others. I have one that I'm restoring now (very slowly). It'll have the original Aubergine over Alaskan White tank. Of course, what the hell do I know, my 930 is Guards Red, seemingly the most hated shade on Porsches.

My neighbor had one coming out of high school. He traded it to his brother for a Honda 350. I politely suggested to him at the time that he was an idiot for doing so.

Would also go well with my '74 RD350--the giant killer!

Looks to be a 78-79 US model 930 based on seperate fog lights, extended high headlight squirters, tea tray spoiler, and double turnsignals in front bumper, or an 1980-1981 grey market car, but I d guess US model. I ve been to a lot of west coast events over the last 10 years and I ve never seen it at any shows or Rennsports, good chance it was sold and went to Europe, if so, say adios unfortunately, many left during the recession when they were very affordable. Rare color for a turbo!
Your best bet is to track down Gordon and ask him. Good luck! |
