Flywheel specs
So, I brought my flywheel into a local machine shop to have it surfaced. He recognized it as a Porsche flywheel rhight away. Said he’s done lots of them. But, he can’t find the thickness specs. He said he wrote them down years ago but can’t find them. I’ve searched on line and I can’t either. I did read that when surfacing the flywheel the outer lip should be cut down the same amount. The machinist said this isn’t necessary.
Can anyone add some clarity here ? It’s for a 81 930.

When I did my full clutch, I just bought a new one from Chris @ TurboCraft.
The price was not bad, and I did not have to mess with the expense and questions about re-surfacing. Most of the time they are so heat checked, it's not worth trying to save it anyway. My .02 worth. Mark |
