AutoHeat Controller - Light bulb replacement

I have the early version of the auto heat controller in my '77 turbo. It works fine, there are no footwell blowers to contend with. There appears to a light bulb (type 2721) in the unit somewhere for night time illumination. Does anyone know where it is located and if it can be replaced without removing the controller from between the seats?

I have mine apart. But itís on the lift. I can look at it tomorrow night.
Iím 99% sure you have to remove it to get to the bulb.

If you search under my username there is an extensive autoheat thread where you can see the bulb. I would just pull the unit, replace the clips for the rod ends etc.

You'll need to pull the auto heat unit. First, you'll need to disconnect the actuating arm through the side access door.

or remover the passenger's seat to access the the bulb through the access door.

Guys,

Thanks for your replies. I will likely have to bite the bullet and remove the unit for bulb access.
