Dumb wastegate question

I feel like an idiot asking this, but what are the advantages of switching to a non-stock wastegate IE tial?

BLING and probably more options for spring rates

Easier to find replacement parts down the line too

Less weight, smaller package, larger diaphragm with less boost creep, and tunability.

I switched to a Tial when mine developed a leak. While it is true that its smaller and it does weigh quite a bit less than the original, there are no performance gains to be had by switching.
I’d look for other areas to improve on. Unless you have existing issues with your waste gate or you need to change the spring rate.

Thanks guys.

I was just curious about why people do it.

I switched from the factory wastegate because the G50 conversion pushed the motor back just far enough that the headers wouldn't let the factory item clear the body (930 transplant, 911 shell).

Tial F46 was the easy fix for me; bolt-on replacement, fitted into the space available.

But rebuildable, made from better material, more spring choices, smaller, lighter, cool colors- those are all good reasons too :)

Ddin't realize the F46 was originally made for the 962, that's kinda cool too http://tialsport.com/index.php/tial-products/wastegates/42-f46]TiAL Sport - F46
