Case casting around internal oil pipe
I have this void in the casting around the oil pipe in the case. Should I leave it as is or is it wise to coat it with JB weld. None of the aluminum is loose. It seems this is a common occurrence, but not sure what others are doing about it if anything. This is a 3.2 Carrera

Leave it alone, they all have it open.
Outside the case on the tube is the potential leak, JB those two areas. Bruce |

It's a passage that is milled open from the factory! Leave it be!

I see the void (casting defect) above the exposed tube that I think you be referring to. I’m thinking it wouldn’t be helpful to put epoxy on that, but as suggested putting on the outside of the case in that area can help keeps sealed.

No voids or casting defects in that. That is the way it comes

If you check it with a magnet, it's actually a steel insert that goes in from the thermostat area. That casting flashing doesn't hurt anything. And the other end of the J-tube has a similar steel insert at where the oil pump pressure stage output goes.
